Put simply, this game is a work of art. The ambiance of 17th-century French aristocracy, the art style, the simple mechanics and fluid storyline all work together to create a story-driven game inspired by historical events to keep one enthralled for hours at a time. The card cheating techniques shown in this game are real, and can be learned IRL by experts and laymen alike. The story itself has all the intrigue and mystery of any swashbuckling tale of the place and period, and as one who enjoyed Dumas‘ “The Three Musketeers,” the only gripe I have is that I wish there were more content.
