About Stand Upright Rebooted:
I feel conflicted on this game in spite of having spent so many hours getting into it. As it is I’m kinda forced to give either a positive or negative review, and unfortunately I think there’s just too many things weighing down the experience to really let me give it a full recommendation. Ignoring the glitches which have ABSOLUTELY killed me unfairly once or twice (this by itself is a pretty big issue) I do have fun playing this game. There’s not that much enemy variety, and you’ll find yourself tackling nearly every situation the same way you did the last 5 locations you visited. but having to rush from one place or another as your infection slowly ticks your health down in hopes of reaching the end is interesting! But I think this is where the game starts to fumble, as the in-game mechanic of infection just isn’t that compelling or that well balanced with the way it’s executed. Part of it is due to how absurdly generous the game can get with the amount of resources it can give you in any given run.. whether you play it slow or fast, you’ll eventually find your backpack filled with nothing but restorative items and weapons that you simply cannot ever hope to use naturally in that playthrough. I’d often end up with medical items being 1/2 of my encumberance because one bathroom’s medical cabinet happened to store 2 medkits and 6 painkillers again and again.the issue still stands. The game is just too generous with it’s resources. And this in turn, both causes anything that isn’t truly IMMEDIATELY lethal to just be a small hindrance, and inventory management to be a chore.
